Multibeam (Imaging)

Multibeam sonars emit multiple sound beams simultaneously across a broad swath, allowing for rapid, high-resolution imaging of large underwater areas. By analyzing the return time and angle of each beam, multibeam sonars create detailed maps of the seafloor or underwater structures. Unlike mechanical sonars, which update one sector at a time, multibeam sonars update all sectors simultaneously, making them highly effective on moving platforms.
