These Waterproof Boxes are pressure-rated, corrosion-resistant, and flexible enough for many different applications. Subsea vehicles typically use cylindrical enclosures, but sometimes a box is a better form factor for your project! They are rated to 300 meters depth.
Most subsea projects use cylindrical pressure vessels because they can handle high pressures efficiently, but sometimes, it’s more convenient to use a box! The rectangular shapes mean they are heavier for the same depth rating, but boxes…
– are easier to mount PCBs and rectangular objects inside
– don’t require additional trays for mounting
– provide a direct heat-sinking path for hot electronics
These boxes are available in two different sizes for different applications. Each of them consists of a box and lid made from anodized 6061-T6 aluminium. The lid seals to the box with a radial O-ring and is held in place using a plastic locking cord, like our cylindrical enclosures. That means there are no screws, and the box can be opened and closed in just a few seconds!
A depression on the lid can be used to apply a label to clarify what is in the box.
The boxes have rubber feet, and the large box has handles for the lid to make it easier to carry and remove.
A Pressure Relief Valve is required for safety and will be added to every Watertight Box order.
