Description
A compact, waterproof sensor based on the MS583730BA digital pressure chip, designed for accurate depth measurement in underwater environments up to 300 m. It features an anodized aluminum housing with an M10×1 threaded interface and includes a removable protective cap to shield the chip’s delicate white diaphragm from debris and mechanical damage.
With I²C communication (3.3 V logic) and a standard DF13-4S connector, it integrates directly with ArduSub and Pixhawk systems, offering plug-and-play compatibility for ROVs, autonomous platforms, and subsea sensor arrays. The sensor operates on 5 V at 1.5 mA peak current and weighs just 14 g, making it well-suited for compact, low-power designs.
Note: All depth sensors using the MS5837 chip should be dried daily for at least two hours to maintain sensor accuracy, as required by the chip manufacturer. For permanent underwater installations or applications requiring higher reliability, consider the Subsea M14 Metal Diaphragm Depth Sensor (0–35 Bar / 0–350 m), which uses a rugged metal membrane and does not require daily drying.
A similar version is also available in a smaller M8 form factor: the Subsea M8 Depth Sensor (0–30 Bar / 0–300 m). Both sensors share identical internal components, but the M8 variant uses a non-removable protective cap and a narrower thread size.
