Description
The Subsea M8 Depth Sensor (0–30 Bar / 0–300 m) is a compact, waterproof pressure sensor built around the MS583730BA digital chip, engineered for accurate underwater depth measurement up to 300 m. It features a rugged anodized aluminum housing with an M8 threaded interface and a fixed protective cap that shields the chip’s sensitive diaphragm from particulate damage during operation.
Designed for seamless integration with ArduSub and Pixhawk systems, this sensor uses I²C communication (3.3 V logic) and a DF13-4S connector for plug-and-play setup in ROVs, autonomous marine systems, and compact underwater platforms. It runs on 5 V at a peak current of 1.5 mA and weighs just 10 g, making it ideal for size- and power-constrained environments.
Please note: as with all MS5837-based sensors, the unit must be dried for at least two hours daily to maintain accuracy, in accordance with chip manufacturer guidelines. For permanently submerged installations or applications requiring long-term reliability without daily drying, the Subsea M14 Metal Diaphragm Depth Sensor (0–35 Bar / 0–350 m) offers a rugged metal membrane alternative.
For a larger M10 threaded version with a removable protective cap, consider the Subsea M10 Depth Sensor (0–30 Bar / 0–300 m).
